What Is Craniosacral Fascial Therapy?

Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT) is a gentle, nurturing approach that supports the natural healing abilities of every member of the family—from newborns and children to teens and adults. CFT blends the wisdom of Dr. William Sutherland’s Cranial Sacral Therapy, John Barnes’ Myofascial Release, and specialized oral techniques rooted in Dr. Gillespie’s work, creating a whole-body modality that honors how deeply connected our systems truly are.

During a session, you (or your child) lie fully clothed and comfortably on the table. Using a light, supportive touch, the practitioner looks for areas of fascial tightness within the craniosacral system, the fascial web, and the oral structures. There is no forcing or manipulating—just following, listening, and supporting the body as it gently unwinds and releases at its own pace.

As tension softens, CFT can help:

  • Improve the flow of cerebrospinal fluid to nourish and cleanse the brain and body

  • Ease tightness and strain throughout the fascial system

  • Support a calmer, more regulated nervous system

  • Encourage relaxation, comfort, and overall wellness

CFT is safe, calming, and effective for people of all ages. Whether it’s soothing a newborn, supporting a growing child, or helping an adult unwind from daily stress, CFT offers a warm, compassionate path toward better balance and wellbeing.
